MAX BYGRAVES, Cordier and Well Disguised make the shortlist here with Max Bygraves taken to prove that his improved effort last time was no fluke. A consistent if modest performer last season, Max Bygraves has stepped up on that form this season with a win on his re-appearance at Kelso, and although disappointing over a longer trip next time, he has returned to form with two good performances, particularly last time at Cheltenham, staying on well to be a close third. Raised only 4lbs for that very good effort, his form is superior to his rivals here. Cordier is another very consistent type, and he has been sent off favourite for each of his last two runs, but although being placed, he never really looked like winning, and perhaps the frame is the best he can hope for as he looks a touch one paced. Well Disguised left previous form behind when coming from off the pace to score with some authority at Newcastle, losing her maiden tag in the process. The third has been well beaten since, and though she may have now improved after breaking her nose in the summer, a 10lb rise looks prohibitive. Max Bygraves can prove unusually popular and collect the opener.
