Red Runaway is the only one of these to have won over a mile so far but that victory came on Polytrack and a number of his rivals seem sure to be suited by a step up in distance. One of those is SHEBEBI and the progressive Folkestone scorer can ensure John Dunlop bows out on a long and successful association with the St Leger meeting on a winner. This is a hot nursery, however, and there are several dangers. Hoarding, Ajmany, Rising Legend, Nile Knight, Winged Icarus and Cappadocia all arrive off the back of recent wins while Shrewd and Excellent Mariner were both beaten favourites last time. Michael Bell's colt wasn't beaten far when chasing a hat-trick at Newmarket and Ian Burns takes off 7lb here so he may be the biggest threat to the selection with Glory Awaits burdened with top weight on his handicap debut.
