Verdict

This is a competitive sprint but Paul Midgley’s runners have dominated recent renewals with Orvar winning the last two. He races off the same mark as 12 months ago and ran well on his reappearance over track and trip, though has turned in a couple of shockers since. Stable companion Line Of Reason was second at Beverley earlier in the week but Texting and Thegreatestshowman are closely matched on Yarmouth running. Yimou arrives in decent form and the three-year-old Triple Spear is not out of this while Duke Of Firenze is still churning out solid performances. MACHREE has been raised 4lb after making all at Thirsk but did have a bit in hand that day so a follow-up is not out of the question. Jonah Jones should also be in the firing-line if back on song.
