Verdict

The penny dropped with MARINERS MOON in no uncertain fashion at Beverley last week. He sluiced up by six lengths over today's trip and 6lb extra is unlikely to anchor him in this. Petergate posted a better effort at Redcar last time when Elle West was well beaten while War Spirit and Twin Appeal are both worth keeping an eye on making their handicap debuts. Better is also expected from Miaplacidus with last month's pipe-opener under her belt but Razin' Hell now looks in the handicapper's grip having won three times on the all-weather over the winter.
