A useful sort in bumpers, STACEY SUE (NAP) was backed to beat the in-form Miss Heritage at Fakenham in December but was all at sea around that track’s sharp turns. This more galloping course should be much more suitable and she’s on a fair mark on her handicap debut. Out On The Tear won here last month and has also scored at Uttoxeter this season. He’s a consistent sort who shouldn’t be far away again and a case can also be made for course and distance winner Storm Goddess. Trapper Peak looks too high in the weights but does have a 7lb claimer on board and Ben Jones takes a handy 3lb off Feuille De Chene, who has travelled up from the west country off the back of a third at Exeter. Schiaparannie looks the pick of the remainder as Colditz Castle may need this.
