    Verdict

    It’s almost two years since SHIP OF THE FEN (NAP) last got his head in front but conditions are in his favour today for the first time in a while and he is a former course winner on a decent mark. Sexy Beast looks a danger after a pipe-opener over a trip too short at Newcastle while The Rutland Rebel found only one too good when favourite over 2m2f at Pontefract. Mr Chua has had a wind operation since winning over hurdles at Catterick in March and makes more appeal than Clearance, who has had a break.
