Ruth Carr restored Beckermet to winning ways last season though he prefers a bit of cut in the ground nowadays, while the same could be said of Sam Nombulist who scored in testing ground over C&D in November and is 7lb higher today. George Baker cannot be easily ruled out given the progress he made last year and Nezami can also be given a chance, but Fluctuation may find this tougher having won three times on the Fibresand at Southwell this year. CALDERCRUIX also won at Southwell on his latest start when breezing up by four lengths but he's twice a winner on turf and arrives in good form. He looks capable of following up despite a rise in the weights.
