Verdict
Jim Bolger won this a year ago, halting a run of three successive Aidan O'Brien victories. The former runs Sun Focus, a half-brother to a Group 3 winner and out of a mare who won over this trip as a two-year-old. Ballydoyle are represented by the only one with experience, GLENEAGLES, a Galileo colt and a full-brother to the Irish 1000 Guineas winner Marvellous. He started a short-priced favourite on his Leopardstown debut but couldn't quite go through with his effort and was beaten into fourth. He'll have come on for the run and should prove good enough though his stablemate Jamaica is one to note for the future as he's another son of Galileo out of a 1m4f winner in France. Postulation looks ideally suited to this trip on his debut and looks a nice type on pedigree while Wardell cost 200,000gns and is a son of Rip Van Winkle.
