UK raiders have a fine record in this and both David O'Meara and David Barron have won it in recent years. The former saddles Gulliver, who won at York in June and has run in all the top sprint handicaps subsequently, while the latter goes with Venturous, headed close home in the Stewards' Cup consolation at Goodwood. Make A Challenge has been in superb form having won four of his last five and doesn't look as though he's finished yet after winning here last month. Buffer Zone won here in June then was just touched off by VEROHYEN on a return visit before a fair run in a Group 3. The latter is 3lb worse off so there's nothing between the pair again but Michael Grassick's charge is taken to confirm the form. Blairmayne looks held on that run though did better when scoring here last month and enters the equation.
