      Verdict

      John Oxx has won this three times in recent years and though last year's easy Cesarewitch winner Minsk will need to improve greatly on his recent effort behind today's rival CHAMONIX there is every chance he will do so as that was his first start since finishing runner-up in a Grade 2 over hurdles in February. The latter goes from strength-to-strength, however, and has comfortably seen off stablemate Demurely in his two latest starts at this level. He is still on the upgrade and should take this though Midnight Soprano loves this track and trip and, if it comes down to a stamina test, she won't be found wanting. Devotion, a stablemate of the selection, has generally competed at a higher level but has become disappointing.
