Verdict

Aidan O'Brien has won this an astonishing 11 times in the past 13 years and will be expecting POWER to add to the roll of honour. The Oasis Dream colt had Roman Soldier just a neck behind when landing the Coventry Stakes at Ascot, however, and the latter was beaten a length by Frederick Engels in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket. David Brown's colt looks certain to play his part here but may just lack the scope of the Ballydoyle entry. Gatepost wasn't far behind Power at Ascot so it's interesting that Mick Channon sends him for a rematch but Lilbourne Lad and Tough As Nails, first and second in the Railway Stakes here, are more likely to trouble the selection.
