Those with experience haven't shown much including Ballydoyle's The Wave Rock, who has been well beaten in both starts over this trip. The stable also run the newcomer Motherland, who is by Galileo out of the brilliant sprinter Pipalong though she's failed to do herself justice as a broodmare so far. Aegeus is by Shamardal out of a Group 3 winner who has bred four winners but in a tricky race it's Dermot Weld's filly ROSE DE PIERRE who gets the vote. A daughter of Dubawi she's entered in the 1000 Guineas and the Oaks on this track and will need to win this to justify those ambitions. Deep Challenger cost a massive 500,000gns at a foal but has obviously had problems as he makes his belated racecourse debut and he has no fancy entries.
