Buccaneer Bob has been going well at Dundalk over the winter and landed a handicap there in March. Sullane Chief ran very well on his hurdling debut in a strong Gowran maiden in December so it was a surprise to see him in a Clonmel bumper in March where he didn't run well in the heavy ground. SHAMAR, a winner on the Flat in France, ran well enough over this course and distance in December but failed to stay 2m4f a few weeks later at Leopardstown. He can gain his first success for Willie Mullins as Spot Fine, who has been alternating between hurdles and fences and has strong form in both, was a big disappointment when a short-priced favourite at Clonmel in March.
