Verdict

ANSAAB went to Naas in April with a big reputation but was just touched off and didn't reappear until last month when he found 1m2f on heavy ground at the Curragh just stretching his stamina. Compensation awaits here though it's about time Fred Fenster was winning and he hasn't been doing much wrong over shorter trips. He'll enjoy stepping up and is a live threat along with the progressive Gordon Lord Byron, who couldn't quite match strides with Aris over 7f at Listowel last time. Loch Ard was having his first start for almost a year at Listowel a month ago, where he had Mafi behind, and should have come on enough to make his presence felt.
