Houlanbatordechais went for €150,000 after completing a bumper double in France in 2021 and ran in major bumpers at Cheltenham and Aintree the following spring. He made his hurdling debut at Leopardstown a year ago and didn't show much so the jury is out. Stablemate WESTERN DIEGO looks a more likely winner as he won a point and a bumper before running in the championship bumpers at Cheltenham and Punchestown as did No Time To Wait, who will be better for a run over timber at Gowran last month. Teuchters Glory, a dual bumper winner, showed real promise over timber earlier this year but was beaten a long way on his reappearance at Gowran where he was behind Raglan Road. The latter was narrowly beaten when an odds-on chance at Gowran in March and should have come on or last month's run. Old Port, six-times a winner on the Flat, is a newcomer to note.
