Some Gem had only shown a modicum of ability before her short-head success at Tipperary and a 5lb rise won't aid her cause. Lea Lady would have a chance on her close third at Ballinrobe in May but ran moderately at Down Royal while Lady Perspex, though running very well at present, may need a stiffer test of stamina. Amazon Warrior is saddled with 7lb extra for scoring at Wexford but did it nicely and there's probably more to come but this can go to BREGA QUEEN, who followed her victory at Downpatrick with a fine run from a 7lb higher mark at Down Royal. Crevelea Lass, a close third to Amazon Royal at Wexford, is another to consider in a wide-open event.
