In depth

Verdict

The hugely-expensive Rekero, by Fastnet Rock out of a Champion Stakes winner, ran in a barrier trial at Dundalk in September so isn't devoid of experience though has missed a couple of recent engagements due to soft ground. MCPHERSON, who is by Golden Horn out of a 1m4f winner, ran very well in both starts over a mile last season on ground with plenty of give. This is more like his trip and with his stable in top form he can make a successful return to action. HMS Seahorse looked a likely future winner when a close second in a Leopardstown maiden and started a short-priced favourite for a Naas handicap but didn't get the best of runs and he's another certain to be suited by stepping up in trip. The remainder have little to recommend them though Silaiyli is a likely improver from a fair run at Naas.
