Verdict

Stablemates As De Pique and Raz De Maree fought out the finish of a Gowran handicap last month with the former having the edge but the latter won this back in 2012 and is the only course and distance winner in the line-up. Gordon Elliott has three entries with Captain Von Trappe, who was in very good form at this time last year and has gradually dropped to a winnable mark, possibly the best of the trio. A Decent Excuse pulled up in the race a year ago and is only 4lb lower so the vote goes to NEW KID IN TOWN, the winner of two of his five starts over fences and making his handicap debut from what looks a tempting mark. Bearly Legal has looked a bit high in the weights after landing a Leopardstown handicap in January.
