It was difficult not to be impressed with the hurdling debut of SHADY OPERATOR at Punchestown. Joseph O'Brien's charge, a bumper winner at Limerick in March, faces a big field here but gave the odds-on Cracking Smart a fright at Punchestown and is likely to be well supported here. Kirwans Lane stayed on strongly to land a Roscommon bumper and is a real hurdling type while Daybreak Boy is rated 99 on the Flat and has every chance of making a hurdler. Turbine did nothing wrong behind Vengeful at Thurles though has run poorly on the level subsequently while Sir Carno should be winning races sooner rather than later.
