Verdict

Winning bumper Ardboe Abbey hasn't yet proved himself over timber but shouldn't be written off and Fairview Star produced by far his best run to date when a close third to Dara Tango at Clonmel in September. Vintage Supreme beat a big field in a bumper here and had little chance in a two-runner event at Listowel when beaten a long way by Annie Power. RING BEN, a winner between the flags, didn't appear to have much chance in what looked a strong maiden at Gowran last time but could hardly have done better in giving supporters of Defence Of Duress a fright. With further progress expected he looks the one to beat here.
