Verdict

Vote Of Confidence just beat Badgerfort, who runs in the previous race, at Down Royal then ran well in a slightly better race at Downpatrick. Whatever It Takes bounced back to form to land a very moderate handicap at Kilbeggan and will do well to follow up with a 7lb rise to contend with but A Decent Excuse has reverted to hurdles on a much lower mark than over fences and very nearly took advantage at Listowel. DEFINITE INCOME is improving rapidly and his only defeat in her last three came over a trip too short. She was impressive at Cork last time and would have won more easily but for a last-flight blunder so even a 10lb rise doesn't look enough to prevent another victory. Blackthorn Prince is another with a big weight rise to contend with after a comprehensive victory at Ballinrobe when strongly supported but he looks a big threat.
