In depth

Verdict

Aherlow, a winner over hurdles at Cork in May, hasn't really shown enough in three starts over fences to be considered and he has to concede weight all round. Dual winning hurdler Exactoris has pulled up in his last two starts over the bigger obstacles while Great Khan produced a very poor round of jumping at Fairyhouse after a decent run behind Roaring Bull on the same track. TELL ME ANNIE ended the last campaign scoring by 15 lengths over timber and reappeared with another comfortable victory at Fairyhouse. His two runs over fences have been in Grade 3 and 2 company and this represents a huge drop in class. Frankly All Talk found 2m much too short last time and is better judged on his two earlier efforts, which would put him in the frame, but Pateen was beaten a distance on his chasing debut at Limerick.
