BAR ROOM BORE was a 50/1 chance on his reappearance at Cork but belied his odds with a cracking effort, staying on strongly in the closing stages. He'll have come on markedly for the run as will Elite Trooper Grey for his run in a Leopardstown handicap where he was also running on at the finish. Kastasa showed plenty of potential on fast ground at Thurles in October and won't be inconvenienced by easier conditions and a longer trip while Very Excellent won't need to step up too much on what she's shown at Dundalk to get into contention. St Estephe looks the type to improve this campaign and may prove best of the remainder.
