Verdict

ABSOLUTE NOTIONS was a major disappointment in the Grade 1 Sefton Novices‘ Hurdle at Aintree having previously finished a close second at that level at Leopardstown. He had a canter round Fairyhouse on his reappearance and has much more scope than the veteran Cash Back. Willie Mullins‘ charge will be receiving 10lb but has not won since January last year and may succumb to his much younger rival. Desert Heather completed a hat-trick before finding Listed company beyond her at Cork while Monishter Are Mwee has not run since making a winning debut over fences at Cork just over a year ago.
