Western Isle has had 10 runs over timber and only been placed once, on his latest start over 2m3f at Cork. He's still well enough handicapped to get competitive here and though Korean is 12lb higher than when losing his maiden tag at Thurles in November he's been running well enough from his new mark to consider for this. He easily holds Lynott on that Thurles run and the latter is still a maiden after 14 starts over timber. After landing a handicap over the C&D in November, Jacks Island started favourite for a similar race at Limerick but ran poorly before unshipping his rider over fences at Thurles. Paul Rothwell tries him in blinkers and if they have the desired effect he can go well. The veteran TAWRIFIC LAOIS has reverted to hurdling in good shape as he showed with a comfortable success at Thurles in November. He's run quite well subsequently and has as good a chance as any in a race where the market could prove the best guide.
