GABRIAL'S KING isn't exactly consistent but his recent Newmarket third, when only beaten just over a length, suggests he's in good heart at present. He's gone well enough here in the past and a repeat of that recent HQ run would see him go close. Kashgar has suddenly found a new lease of life and is up 11lb for two recent victories but also appeals in his current form. Hallstatt has continued to show up prominently off higher marks after a couple of wins and is another to take into account in an open contest but Teak ran well behind the selection last time at Newmarket and could emerge as the main danger if improving for his first outing for over seven months. Montaff normally competes at a higher level than this but doesn't look the force of old.
