A number of leading players would want rain to be seen to best effect here and we will take a chance on MEMPHIS MAN, while My Kingdom, Kingswinford and Grissom are respected. The David Evans-trained selection acts on any ground and was last seen in winning action when it was fast at Windsor in June. This trip looks to be his optimum and he has consistently run well in defeat from similar marks since, while he does have a win from 75 to his name, so he may just about be up to this from a decent draw. Stablemate Kingswinford is proving very frustrating to follow after four successive second placings. He has a plumb inside draw, but he is one of those preferring cut and from a higher mark than his recent defeat he is taken on. Grissom is 12lbs worse off with Kingswinford for around a length-and-a-half on soft ground in August and therefore has an arduous task turning that around, while My Kingdom handles this ground but undoubtedly looks in need of good going or slower to be seen at his best. Another Evans inmate, I Confess, has never yet won on turf and reserves his best for the Polytrack, while fast ground lover Noodles Blue Boy has yet to prove he stays this far. Memphis Man is the suggestion.
