Dr Red Eye, Repetition and Ralphy Boy are likely to attempt to steal a march from their respective berths, but they may only succeed in setting it up for a closer and FIELDGUNNER KIRKUP can be primed to pounce. David Barron's six-year-old was literally pipped at the post at Leicester and despite a 3lb rise in the weights since that contest, he is still potentially well treated against the pick of his earlier form. Eddiemaurice ran in a virtual quagmire at Pontefract earlier in the week and that run can easily be overlooked. Rangi Chase hasn't lived up to expectations this term but he showed ability in a decent York contest last season and the combination of a bigger field and a truly run race could just bring out the best out in him. King Of Eden is a previous C&D winner though a very high draw makes Eric Alston's gelding difficult to enthuse about.
