        Verdict

        Aidan O’Brien is responsible for half of this eight-strong field as he bids for a fifth consecutive victory in the race and a seventh in the last 10 years. Finn McCool and Wings Of Eagles have Group 1 experience and the former finished well ahead of The Anvil in last year’s Racing Post Trophy, though Donnacha O’Brien’s mount was impressive upped in trip at Dundalk and is related to several stayers. Ryan Moore’s record in this is as good as retainer, however, and he is partnering VENICE BEACH (NAP), who is a half-brother to Arc and King George winner Danedream. The Galileo colt is entered in all of the top middle-distances races over the next couple of months even though he’s only won a Tipperary maiden so far. Tamleek easily won a Newmarket maiden last month and may have more scope than Sandown Classic Trial winner Cunco. Count Octave is thrown in at the deep end after winning a Wolverhampton maiden.
