This may be a consolation race for the Chester Cup but it’s a long way below the standard of the main event. Five of the 12 runners are trained by Ian Williams with Justus and Hydroplane making most appeal of those. Emiyn won here and at Catterick in the autumn but stamina will have to be taken on trust. Call My Bluff has won over the trip and has an excellent strike-rate so has to go on the shortlist while Chase The Dollar has been showing steady improvement. BELLATRIXSA (NAP) has bags of stamina and the booking of Franny Norton is a positive. She arrives fit from the jumps and her yard sent out a similar type to win this last year. The mare is just preferred to Auriferous, who is in good form, and the progressive Haveyoumissedme.
