      Verdict

There is sure to be no hanging about here if the likes of Casleshane runs his usual race. However, the weights for this give Northside Lodge a cracking chance of reversing recent weather form with Consonant and the Peter Harris-trained gelding gets the vote on the grounds of value. Others to consider include: Swift Tango, who has strung together a series of consistent efforts, while Prince Nureyev is no forlorn hope to go well despite top weight in this company. The Desert King gelding has long been held in high regard by his trainer and he could finally have a good season now that he the handicapper has started to relent with him. However, he may need to slip a little further before he can confidently be recommended and is passed over for win only purposes today. Therefore, it may pay to give Northside Lodge another chance as he has the ideal jockey booked in Johnny Murtagh if he is to weave his way through late today. Consonant is the obvious alternative but he has endured plenty of leg problems over the years and it is hard to know how well he will take to the ground if it stays firm before the off.
