        Verdict

        Most of these have won here in the past but GOSSIP COLUMN won last year’s inaugural running and gets the vote to repeat. Ian Williams’ charge is 2lb lower than last season despite winning at York in June when Percy was well beaten, though he does have a length to find with Super Kid having finished third to the latter over track and trip earlier. The latter has struggled since but Dark Lochnagar beat Gabrial The One easily enough over a shorter trip here last weekend and can figure. Cape Islay scored at the track earlier though Mark Johnston’s charge would prefer fast ground but Hereby won a maiden at Goodwood in testing going and is worth a second glance now handicapping.
