        Verdict

        Varden may improve further in first-time cheekpieces. Valadero started favourite for the Brocklesby back in April and was only beaten a neck. But costly defeats at Thirsk and Ripon followed and he was only third over course and distance last month. He has the worst of the draw today and unlucky Sandown runner-up COLORADA DANCER hasn’t fared much better, though has bags of scope and can overcome his starting position. Politico is penalised for winning here back in May but Franny Norton will look to take advantage of an inside berth and Foreign Exchange still looked green at Thirsk. Infinity Blue steps up a furlong and isn’t certain to stay.
