Verdict

Another Kate's half-sister won this race last year but on what we've seen so far this one is very much the ugly duckling, so we'll leave her out and focus instead on GOLDEN CHIEFTAIN and Cap Elorn, with the former preferred. Described as 'a lovely prospect' by trainer Colin Tizzard, our selection did well to take a clear second to Kartanian in a bumper here, form which looks particularly strong. As a half-brother to Boychuk he should be leaving that behind now stepped up in trip and this looks a good place to start. Cap Elorn disappointed in his bumper but he's quickly sent over obstacles and is surely a threat representing a yard who had a fine weekend and operate at a 22% strike-rate here. Mic's Delight looks the pick of the Dartnall-trained pair while Educated Evans is hard to assess after a shock Uttoxeter win but if repeating it would certainly be a factor.
