Verdict

A competitive field goes to post for the finale with Flahive's First, Cameron Bridge, Damus and Dual Star all sure to have their supporters but we will take a chance on Cameron Bridge. The gelding from the Phillip Hobbs yard was a good fourth on his last run last season in a class B contest behind Il Capitano. He will find this easier and despite top weight with conditions in his favour he will be hard to beat. Flahive's First rates the main danger he was a fair fourth behind Fear Siuil last time and he should not be far away but his best form of late has come with more cut in the ground so for that reason he is opposed on this occasion. It will be interesting to see if Damus has been rejuvenated by the switch to Martin Pipe so he is worth noting in the market. Dual Star showed very little last time out so he is over looked. Aircon is well in on his best form but is hard to win with 1 win from 27 runs so we are happy to stick with the top weight Cameron Bridge.
