Farnborough is given the tentative nomination in this moderate handicap with Fizzy Lady and Uncle John put forward as the main dangers. The selection will be suited by the step up in trip after putting up a fair effort when fourth behind Grand Rapide at Bath last time. He will appreciate this softer surface and he looks the most likely winner. Fizzy Lady was a good second behind Alifzar last time but this is more difficult and her best form is on a faster surface so for that reason she is passed over. Uncle John has been disappointing on his last three outings but prior to that he had run well when second behind Elusive Dream at Brighton. If he could reproduce that effort here then he would be a danger to all. The rest will have to improve to trouble the principles, which brings us back to Farnborough, who has plenty in his favour here and looks the one to beat.
