A number have been running consistently enough in this grade without getting a ticket to the winner's enclosure. Pour L'Amour is an obvious example and is inching slowly down the weights to a level where she could finally get her head in front but a career record of 1-26 rather tells the story. She does have a good shout here though. The last two runs of Earthly bring him in consideration but CAMAKASI receives the vote despite the concession of weight all round. He's a hold-up merchant who needs things to drop right but has been in decent form in what have looked stronger contests and this could be the day if all works out for him. Kath's Legacy is dangerous on the back of two useful efforts, latterly under today's young pilot.
Camakasi (IRE) 20-1 (9-3) Slowly into stride, held up last, headway on inside over 2f out, soon chased leaders, ridden and stayed on same pace inside final furlong, 3rd of 7, 2 1/4l behind Panko (9-13) at Leicester 1m 4f hcp (5) gf in Jun.
Earthly (USA) 11-2 (11-1) Mid-division, headway to chase leaders over 2f out, soon no impression, faded final furlong, 3rd of 8, 4 1/2l behind Roy Rocket (10-4) at Brighton 1m 4f hcp (6) gf in Jun.
Kath's Legacy 11-4jfav (9-12) Tracked leaders, 2nd on inside 3f out, ridden and edged left 2f out, soon lost 2nd, plugged on into 3rd post, 3rd of 9, 3 1/4l behind Tiar Na Nog (10-0) at Windsor 1m 3f hcp (6) gf in Jun.
Demophon 10-1 (9-4) Slowly away in rear, outpaced 3f out, last of 12, 25 3/4l behind Scrutiny (9-0) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp (6) pol in Jun.
