Verdict
With four of the ten runners in this maiden hurdle making their debut over obstacles there is always going to be some guesswork for punters. However one with proven form is Jonjo O'Neill's Tardar who after a decent debut third is taken by TEAMtalk to improve again here. The form of the six-year-old's third at Warwick behind German raider Translucid looks strong and he should have learnt plenty for the experience. He sets a good standard for the newcomers who include Bold Raider who would have every chance on the basis of his consistent Flat form in handicaps and he should see out the trip as he has won up to a mile and a quarter. The main danger though is the more experienced Kerrigand who makes his British debut for the Martin Pipe yard. He could be anything and the betting market may give the best guide as to how he has been working at home. Of the remainder Maconnor has shown some signs of ability but takes a huge drop in trip here while Mythical King is exposed on the Flat but is at least built to make a hurdler.
