COLLECTORS ITEM was only beaten half-a-length in a bumper at Newbury in March when making his debut under Rules and can thwart Paul Nicholls’ attempt to win this for a third year running with the bumper winner Hugos New Horse. Marty Byrde has run in a couple of bumpers here and may do better now switching to hurdles while Jet Marshall is probably better than he showed at Newbury in April.
