Verdict
The forecast decent ground has rewarded the racecourse with another maximum field. The one's to concentrate on are Kadlass, Irish Distinction, Kety Star and Generous Ways, with the latter getting the vote. Formerly a useful handicapper on the flat for both Ed Dunlop and latterly Eric Alston, he came to hurdling quite late in life. After a couple of outings on unsuitable ground, he showed his true worth when tackling a faster surface at Ludlow, when filling the runner-up spot behind Forest Tune. He then went on to bolt up at Exeter and although he has to race off a 8lbs higher mark here, that doesn't look enough to stop him. Kadlass comes here in good form, but is of limited ability and it would be something of a surprise if she was good enough on these terms, but Irish Distinction is a definite possibility off his low weight. The winner of a seller and a claimer on the flat, he won't mind the ground and has shown enough in his last couple of outings to be of interest at this level. Kety Star, who comes from the powerful Venetia Williams yard, is dropping down the handicap and will be well suited to the dying ground.
