    In depth

    Verdict

The Charlie Mann-trained Flinders Chase is a very narrow preference in this tight handicap with Asparagus and Mouskie rated the biggest dangers out of those to have raced already this season, while Wain Mountain has some solid course and distance experience to his name and is worth monitoring in the betting. While Asparagus is very much respected on the best of his efforts, he will struggle to confirm recent form with the selection on these terms and may again find at least one too good. Whereas Mouskie paid the price for a successful run with a hefty rise in the weights and needs to shrug off a below par run from last time out. Therefore, we turn to Flinders Chase this time around, as he is sure to be fitter after his reappearance and he is expected to put in a more determined effort this afternoon.
