It’s a long time since Marquis Of Carabas saw a racecourse but he is certainly well treated and the booking of Derek O’Connor may be very significant. FACT OF THE MATTER has won on the cross-country course here and was only caught on the run-in last time at Newton Abbot. He races prominently so should avoid any traffic problems and his rider claims 7lb. Bermeo has changed stables but was third here in April when carrying overweight and Boughtbeforelunch was in good form at the start of the summer. First Class Return won twice at Southwell in March and Debden Bank has had wind surgery since completing a treble at that track in July. Madera Mist boasts a win and second from two previous runs around here so can’t be ignored from the foot of the weights with easy Downpatrick winner Carnet De Stage also worth a second look.
