Oiseau de Nuit won the Grand Annual over track and trip in 2011 and scored for the first time since at Chepstow in October, though that form hasn't really been franked since. Josh Newman gave Oh Crick a good ride to claim second spot at Newbury last time and he's another former Grand Annual winner. But he was earlier almost 10 lengths behind SHOOTERS WOOD here and Paul Nicholls' consistent eight-year-old is fancied to confirm that form and follow up today. His Excellency has a lot weight considering he is only a four-year-old and this may be too tough for Imperial Shabra while Pepite Rose is possibly better over further. Garynella returns from a break but is still preferred to the Evan Williams' pair, West With The Wind and Lancetto, of the others.
