    Verdict

Last year’s second and third, Lil Rockerfeller and Unowhatimeanharry, try again but this is shaping up to be one of the best races of the meeting, though we’re unlikely to see the prolific mare Apple's Jade turned out again quickly after her disappointing run in Tuesday’s Mares’ Hurdle. The late Nichols Canyon won this for Willie Mullins 12 months ago and the master of Muine Beag has four entered this year. Ruby Walsh rides Bacardys and that is probably a pointer. Supasundae won the Coral Cup here last year and has proved himself a smart performer since, though was beaten by Yanworth at Aintree subsequently. Alan King’s enigmatic gelding is having his first run over hurdles since but could figure if everything went his way. The Long Walk is usually a good guide for this and SAM SPINNER took a huge step forward when making all at Ascot in December, comfortably holding off L'Ami Serge with Unowhatimeanharry, The Worlds End and Lil Rockerfeller well beaten. This is not an easy course on which to make all but Jedd O’Keeffe’s stable star will love the ground and can grind out a second Grade 1 victory. The New One is a Festival regular but this will be his first run over 3m and he may get found out in the closing stages.
