Beat The Boys was good value for his win at Newcastle last month but a 9lb rise for that looks harsh for the gelding from the stable of Nigel Twiston-Davies and a better bet looks to be KIA KAHA, who gets the vote with The Tother One rated the best of the rest. The selection made a highly encouraging reappearance when chasing home Shining Gale on soft ground at Haydock last month and Jonjo O'Neill's gelding can defy a 6lb rise for that effort. Malcolm Jefferson's According To Pete was well held on his return here last month and looks best watched with a bigger threat likely to come from Any Currency. Trained by Martin Keighley, who has his runners in good heart, the six-year-old has won his last two starts and a 4lb rise for his latest success is fair but the softer ground today is a concern. Ashley Brook is hard to recommend on recent form, while David Pipe's The Package is capable but is proving to be hard to win with. The Tother One is more than capable of taking a hand in the finish but the ground may be softer than ideal for him and a better bet looks to be Kia Kaha.
