Verdict

Paddy Mullins, Derek O’Connor and Jamie Codd have all ridden the winner of this twice in the last nine years. The first-named partners CAREFULLY SELECTED for father Willie and the eight-year-old beat O’Connor’s mount Forza Milan by four lengths in a Naas Grade 3 when conceding 6lb. Codd rides Ravenhill for Gordon Elliott and the 10-year-old has claims on his second in the Kerry National. Lord Du Mesnil looked sure to win the Grand National Trial at Haydock until reeled in close home. He looks the pick of the UK-based runners and Sam Waley-Cohen rode the winner of this in 2009. Springfield Fox and The Hollow Ginge may be best of the rest.
