Verdict

It’s difficult to knock the form of Risk A Fine this year and a line through Master Baker suggests he should have the measure of VILLAGE VIC on these terms. But Philip Hobbs’ veteran comes alive over these fences and appeared to blow up having jumped boldly out in front at Newbury when returning from a lengthy lay-off. Petrou wouldn’t have much to find on official ratings and has been in good form between the flags but Champagne West has shown little in two starts for new connections. Bishops Road hasn’t won in more than three years and has switched stables.
