In depth

Verdict

Dalaman is one for the short-list in this having won a shade cosily at Towcester. Virnon won at Carlisle on his debut and followed up under a penalty at Newcastle while Colour Of The Wind went close at Wetherby after scoring at Towcester and a line through subsequent Huntingdon winner Avenue Of Honour suggests he should have the beating of Dandy Duke, Nutcracker Prince and Elkstone. WISHFULL DREAMING, a full brother to the smart Wishfull Thinking, was only collared close home in what looked a decent contest at Exeter last month. He'll have learned from that and can go one better today though there are a host of newcomers - including Aka Doun, Barneby and Camlann - worth a second look if the market speaks in their favour.
