Verdict

MAVERICK WAVE (NAP) came up short in the Listed Winter Derby Trial at Lingfield last time but scored in this grade at the same track before that. Only 3lb higher today, John Gosden's colt can return to winning ways. Red Avenger will have come on for a recent reappearance and is more at home at this level than Barye, bidding for a hat-trick of course and distance wins off a 9lb higher mark. Spirit Of The Law is also capable of getting involved on his return to action though has yet to win off a mark as high as today's.
