In depth

Verdict

Australis and Cosmelli are closely matched on running in the Northumberland Plate at Newcastle during the summer. Both have also won over 2m since but a chance is taken on TULIP FIELDS improving for the longer trip. Mark Johnston’s filly won over 1m4f at Doncaster last month, with a below-par Battle Of Marathon behind, and last week’s placed effort at Kempton suggests she can score off today’s mark. Ernesto has had a wind operation since last in action but is preferred to Kitaabaat as he debuts on the all-weather.
